Les Miserables
Covington Reardon is a junior at Samford University pursuing her BFA Musical Theatre and a minor in Dance. Growing up in "Music City," (Nashville, TN) she was fortunate be surrounded by a community that loved and celebrated the arts. As a result, Covington is a deeply passionate artist who believes in the importance of artistic education, especially for younger generations, and protecting the places theatre, music, and dance hold in our world.
Covington first discovered musical theatre when she was 11 "...going on 17" in her elementary school's production of The Sound of Music. Since then, Covington has performed in over 25 stage productions, and she is eager to step into the second half of her college journey, which has been full of many unexpected surprises (you should ask her how she met Billy Joel), before moving to New York to pursue her dreams of joining the dancing feet of Broadway!!
I believe that the arts have the power to directly influence the lives of all involved in a creative experience. As such, I believe that we, as artists, are called to thoughtful and committed performances. We must recognize that every artistic endeavor has the power to change lives, and therefore, it is our upmost responsibility to strive to create art within a community committed to upholding the integrity of thoughtful, honest, and joyful performance through song, dance, and storytelling.
